When Life - Spotlight on Ashley Dunham with Bossfidence

This weeks story is just a little different. I have been blessed to have connected and networked with so many wonderful female entrepreneurs that I thought it would be great to spotlight one every now and then. We've met Marsha, my friend from Canada, who is a motivational speaker and now author; as well as Mark, the amazing owner and operator of The Music Room here in Alabama. Both have remarkable backstories and have come a long way to get to where they are today.

One thing I absolutely adore about Ashley from Bossfidence is that she is the ultimate cheerleader for female entrepreneurs. If you have ever traveled down the road of owning your own business or building a brand, then you know you need all the love and support you can get. From tips on mastering social media to the importance of self care and love, Ashley is my go to girl!

Read about her journey to where she went from sales associate to Boss Babe Extraordinaire!

My name is Ashley Dunham, I am a 26 year old, self proclaimed basic millennial, Army wife, fur baby mama,  Star Wars nerd, wine connoisseur and skin care fiend!

Being a business executive or an entrepreneur has always been something that I wanted to do. From the time I was young, I was always finding a way to hustle! My first job was creating greeting cards and selling them at my dad’s office and once I turned 16 I got my first job at a consignment children’s clothing store. No matter how much I hated working sometimes, I have always love the motivation of having my own money.

My educational background has taken me from one extreme to the next. I started my journey wanting to study Global Business Management, which sounded great until I found I wasn’t passionate about it. I took a step back to evaluate what I REALLY wanted to do...that took me to FIDM. I attended FIDM and received my AA in Merchandise Product Development. At FIDM, I took a Business Marketing class and fell head over heels in love with marketing, merchandising and brand building. This led to a Bachelors in Business Marketing at Grand Canyon University. All the while attending school, I was working! From being a lowly sales associate at Abercrombie & Fitch to working my way up at Bath & Body Works to a Co-Manager at a flagship store, to coordinating weddings on the weekends; I continuously made sure that I was getting equal parts work experience and education.

After graduation I was very lucky to get a job as an Event Manager at local business publication, the Los Angeles Business Journal. This experience took my network and abilities to the next level. After a while however, my passion ceased and I needed more of a branding and public relations role which led to my most recent adventure as a Marketing & PR manager for international financial communications firm, Equities.com. While working at these jobs I met mentors and social influencers who inspired me to start building my own brand. Which is when I founded Bossfidence.com, a female empowerment and entrepreneurship community where I highlight female millennial entrepreneurs, provide success tips and health/wellness advice. Bossfidence Consulting was also born this year! I provide brand building, marketing, social media management, digital media development and event strategy!

Of course I am not all work and no play! I have been with my husband for the past 5 years and he has been extremely supportive of my career path and educational pursuits. Without him, I honestly don’t know if I ever would have taken the complete leap to start consulting or have faith in myself that I would survive being recently laid off. We have two amazing dogs and have been so fortunate to have been blessed with many friends and a lovely family! I am also an every day women who has had her fair share of tragedy. My husband and I suffered a miscarriage in August 2017 and I am very open to talking to anyone who needs a shoulder, advice or just a friend who understands!

I am all about being a goal-digger! My goal for 2018 is to help 1,000 women grow, find bliss and build their confidence. If you are in need of guidance, inspiration, clarity, a best friend, please never hesitate to reach out to me! I love being able to pass on some of my life lessons and be a listening ear to whomever needs me!
