Feed The Soul Friday - Grilled Bananas

Grilled Bananas

The Fixings:

2 bananas (you don't want these too ripe though!)

2 Tablespoons brown sugar

2 Tablespoons cinnamon

Honey for drizzling

Serve with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream

Directions:

With the peels still on the bananas, cut in half, then split each banana down the middle. This will give you 4 total pieces from each banana. 8 total in all. Keep the peels on!

Sprinkle equal parts brown sugar then cinnamon over each banana.

Drizzle each slice with honey.

Place peel side down and grill until the brown sugar/cinnamon mixture begins to melt and has a nice crispiness to it. Timing depends on the grill you use, but honestly once you can see the crust forming and the peels start to pull from the banana...you're ready!

Remove from grill and serve immediately with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream.

What at great way to get your fruit in :)

So, the little story with this recipe is that this was one of the first things my husband, Chris, and I grilled on our new "joint custody" grill after we were married. We still make these to this day because now our kiddos love them.
